About Justin

Justin Kramp, Founder and Owner of Final Grind Coffee Co.

Welcome!

I vividly remember my mom scooping ground coffee out of an opaque, cream-colored ceramic canister with a metal flip-top latch—like the ones on European beer bottles.

She’d reach in, grab the stainless steel coffee spoon, and scoop several heaps into the drip coffee maker.

I remember the trickle of coffee into the glass urn and that final purging sound, signaling the water reservoir was empty and the coffee was ready.

As a kid, I hated the smell. It grossed me out.

That changed when I was about nine.

My parents took me to a coffee roaster in Hamburg, Germany—a short drive from the village I grew up in—for breakfast with friends.

As we walked up, the smell hit me. It was familiar, but this time it didn’t repulse me. I was curious.

Inside, it was an old brick-walled warehouse with two-story ceilings—bustling with people, steam hissing behind the counter, beans dumped into bags, grinders grinding, roasters roasting, milk frothing, and servers racing breakfast plates to tables.

That moment shifted something.

Maybe the coffee at home was just...bad.
Was there such a thing as good coffee?

While that experience faded, my own coffee consumption ramped up—especially in college.

I was drinking 10+ cups a day just to keep up.

I was studying chemistry, minoring in business administration, working a full-time restaurant job to cover tuition, and somehow squeezed in a season of collegiate rowing during my freshman year.

But the coffee? Still bad.
I certainly wasn’t drinking it for the taste.

During my time in the restaurant world, I became a Sommelier.

As I refined my palate, I could instantly tell the difference between cheap and exceptional wine—and more and more, I started noticing when I had a bad cup of coffee.

Something had to give.

Then one night around 2am, while researching a business idea for a marketing class—and fed up with mediocre coffee—I fell down a rabbit hole:

What would it take to start a coffee company?

Today, I can proudly say that Final Grind exclusively offers specialty-grade coffee—the highest grade out there.

We represent coffees from 13+ countries and counting, work with growers who are paid fairly—often the best-paid in their region—and everything is roasted to order, never before.

That means your coffee is not only exceptionally fresh, but also responsibly sourced—for people and planet.

I’ve learned more about the world of coffee than I ever thought possible.

Let me share it with you—your Final Grind of coffee.

Because once you taste coffee like this, you’ll never want to drink anything else.

Sincerely,
Justin Kramp
